Pros:-designed well to fit multiple sizes-tail is more colorful than pictured and looks amazing, better than pictured-there is a stretchy panel in the back of the corset which allows it to adjust from size 2-6 and still have a fitted look-the best mermaid top I have seen that covers your midriff but still looks sexy and cohesive with the costume-the base of the tail part is very full and made with nice material(each layer is a different shade giving it visual texture and a translucent fish like quality)Sizing:I was very worried about sizing I am usually a small/medium and a 6/8 depending on the brand and wasn't sure what to with xs/s and M/L sizes. I am also fairly busty and curvy.(D) My measurements matched the xs/s and I wanted a fitted look so I went with xs/s. It fits great and doesn't feel uncomfortable I did have a mishap with the top (See below). There is still plenty of room in the boob part or not a lot of support which leads me to believe most of us will need a strapless bra underneath. I love how it fits me, fitted but I think if I was 5-10 lbs heavier it probably would be too tight.(I currently weigh 140 at 5'5" I am also hourglass shaped so not sure if that makes a difference) I can sit comfortably, touch my toes, and squat without worrying about overstretching or splitting a seam.Cons:-sea shell accent on hip is a little mushed when you take it out of the package;(to be expected after shipping) easily fixed by hanging and fluffing-WARNING: DO Not Pull Corset Over Your Head, like I did. While the seams are well sewn and the top stretchy, the translucent overlay material in the bodice pulls out of the seams easily and unravels. I highly recommend taking the time to undo the laces and put it on the slow way. (fairly confident this is because the translucent overlay unravels easily at the ends, I am right on the verge of either size- but I wasn't any rougher in pulling it over my head than I would be with a shirt or nightgown.)If The Delicate Corset Overlay Does Split or Pull From The Seam, I fixed this by pulling all of the translucent layer off of the blue part of the corset. The blue underneath is very pretty by itself and would accent the tail and big shells nicely. I wanted it to sparkle so I covered the newly exposed blue section with one of those $1 cans of silver sparkly glitter hair spray they sell at halloween and covered that with a thick layer of normal hair spray to keep the glitter from flaking everywhere.-the sea shells are quite large which might be problematic if you are small busted.Other notes:-the shells do stand out as pictured-what you cant really see in the pic is that one side has a blue/green strap on the left side- that matches the tail poof. the other side has a clear strap. If you aren't into the asymmetrical straps you can easily remove the green part of the left strap (its material over a clear strap)Overall I am very happy with the costume despite the mishap. The top was so large on me, even though I went by the size chart. The fabrics are all incredibly cheap. The seashells and accessories did not lay flat, and so they kept flipping up.The cups of the seashells have a thin flat piece of foam inside, and they don't fit correctly in the bust, because they're so flat. This would fit very well on someone with a larger bust. I am 34D, and the top was way too big, even if I adjusted the straps and corset is fully tighened. The side of the top is a corset. The ribbons are not already in the corset, so you have to completely lace it up yourself, BUT theres no zipper or anything on the top, so you have to lace it up WHILE you're wearing it, or have someone help you.The bottom skirt lengthwise was good, I'm 5'8". The waistband was a thin piece of bunched elastic, (like a thin scrunchie) and so it kept letting the skirt rotate around. It was very cheaply made. BUT the good thing I will say about it, is that the outer layer of fabric is very shiny and iridescent and sparkly.Overall, I would not recommend this item.Overall the costume was as expected. The top was a bit difficult to adjust due to the lace up side. It only laces on one side of the top so fit adjustment is minimal or it becomes offset to one side or the other. It could use a little more shape in the chest area so you may likely need some sort up top underneath it. Otherwise it's one of the better mermaids in this price range that I have seen.My girlfriend ordered this costume and ended up returning it. It was not as good looking as the photo depicted. The top felt cheap, but fit appropriately, however, the bottoms were to loose for the small size she ordered and felt that it made her butt look huge. However, this is a better alternative to making a mermaid costume on short notice. The skirt (fin) is a perfect fit..and I usually wear a size 1. However, the top is way too big in the cup area. One of the straps already broke on the top. The skirt I love. Very pretty. But I plan on making my own mermaid top.It photographs beautifully!!!! And so cheap... I don't know why people comment that it falls apart after wearing it for a while, mine didn't at all! I am 5'1ft, 118 lbs, it did run a bit big even though I got a small, but I fixed it with a little sewing just so that it hugged my body tight. I loved that it was sexy but not too much, just the right amount. I got several compliments at a Halloween party. I definitely reccomend! This costume is very poorly constructed and uses sub-par materials. The bodice has sheer fabric over a foam-based blue fabric. The foam just adds bulk and is unflattering. On one of the seams, the sheer fabric was already ripping right out of the package. The back of the costume (which was not depicted in the photo) is a very unattractive elasticized fabric unlike anything on the front. In attempting to improve the appearance, I discovered that the bodice cannot be altered due to the sheer fabric ripping where ever it's sewn. Another issue is the glittery fabric used in the bottom ruffle; it has loose glitter that falls everywhere as if the glitter was just thrown on the fabric without being permanently adhered. Too bad this costume doesn't live up to its picture.I have to say, for the price, this outfit was great although it did start to tear on the top at the very beginning of my wearing it. On time delivery though and worth it for the one time use I needed it for!The chest area doesn't fit... the rest of the costume was fine.
